If you are looking for a complete FanDuel review, then you have come to the right place. Bet Station is here to scrutinize one of the most popular sports betting sites in America, letting you know how it compares to the competition. Whether you want to know about FanDuel sports betting, the FanDuel daily fantasy sports, or the FanDuel Casino, this review will cover it all.

FanDuel Sportsbook

For those of you who don’t know, FanDuel is one of the most popular fantasy sports providers in America. They are the biggest competition to DraftKings, arguably the biggest daily fantasy sports service in the United States. In this review, we will compare and contrast the services at FanDuel with its biggest rival, to give you an idea of which service is best.

If you are brand new to sports betting, what should you look for before you sign up? If you check out any of our other sportsbook reviews, like Caesars or PointsBet, you would notice an enticing welcome bonus. However, the best sportsbooks have promotions you can enjoy after you have used the starting offer. Plus, we are also looking for the services that are the easiest to use, whether you are on your PC, mobile device, or tablet. This FanDuel review will tell you everything you need to know before you sign up, saving you time and money.

Sports

If you are looking to join FanDuel for sports betting, then you have a lot of options. FanDuel has 20 different sports for you to wager on, not including the variety of different leagues from around the world. Take soccer, for example. They have the EPL, MLS, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Europa Conference League. Plus FanDuel also has bets for the World Cup and lesser-known divisions from South Korea to Bolivia.

The extensive range of leagues within each sport makes FanDuel such a fantastic sportsbook. You might not feel compelled to bet on the Czech second division, however, it is nice just to have the option. With that in mind, what sports can you bet on at Fan Duel?

  • Aussie Rules
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Football
  • Golf
  • Handball
  • Ice Hockey
  • MMA
  • NASCAR
  • Formula 1
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Snooker
  • Soccer
  • Table Tennis
  • Tennis

There are other sportsbooks out there with an even greater selection of sports to bet on. Betway has nearly 30 sports for you to consider, including Esports and Virtual Sports. If you are looking for an online sportsbook for gaming and Esport betting, then FanDuel is not the best choice. But, if you are going to bet on popular sports like the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL, then FanDuel certainly has you covered.

Live Betting

One of the most important services an online sportsbook can offer is live betting. For those of you who don’t know how exciting live betting is, check out our live betting guide. Essentially, live betting is when you can place bets on sporting events that are currently taking place. There are many reasons live betting is so popular, the main one being you can watch along and bet as the game transpires.

FanDuel has a robust live betting service where you can watch some sporting events. FanDuel will either allow you to watch along with a live stream, offer a digital representation of the game in real-time, or give you a detailed breakdown of the match so far, including the stats. Sometimes, FanDuel will have none of the options above and will instead show a live scoreboard to represent the game.

Compared to other online sports betting services, the FanDuel live betting options are up there with the best. Sportsbooks like Caesars and BetMGM are marginally better, as they have more detailed digital displays. However, if you were looking to join an online sportsbook just for live bets, FanDuel is a brilliant candidate.

Odds

FanDuel is one of the best online sportsbooks in America, which means it will have the most relevant and up-to-date odds available. The odds at FanDuel change constantly as more players make bets or as the event itself takes place. Odds change on the fly, even when inside of your bet slip. Place your bet quickly if you do not want your returns to change.

There are many benefits of having a system updated as frequently as FanDuel does. You can watch along to see what wagers are improving, to get an idea of where the market is moving. However, that does not mean FanDuel offers the best odds at all times. Comparing three MLB bets to DraftKings proved FanDuel had worse odds with all three events. A $10 parlay on all three events would return $45.79 at FanDuel. The same bet at DraftKings yields $58.45, more than a ten-dollar increase in your profit.

If you look at any online sportsbook, you can expect to see a fluctuation for each bet. Some bets are better placed at DraftKings, others at PointsBet. However, for a sportsbook to offer better odds across the board is poor. If you can earn an extra $13 from your bet just by placing it on a different sports betting site, then you should do so. Blind loyalty to a brand is pointless in the world of online betting. Get the best returns you can for each bet you place!

FanDuel Casino

When we first joined FanDuel, the casino was still very new and unequipped. Compared to rival sportsbooks with casinos, it was seriously lacking in terms of content and games to play. The BetMGM casino, DraftKings casino, and Caesars Casino all had hundreds more games than FanDuel. However, recently FanDuel has stepped up, bringing us dozens of new games on a very regular basis.

Currently, FanDuel has over 350 casino games for any new player to enjoy. Only a select few states have access to the FanDuel casino games. We have a complete list of states at the bottom of our FanDuel review.

  • Number of Slots: 306
  • Progressive Jackpot Slots: 21
  • Table Games: 30+
  • Live Dealer Games: 20+
  • Video Poker Games: 4

Even with 350 casino games, FanDuel is still short of the competition. DraftKings has over double that amount and they are even more frequent with fresh additions. The best sportsbook with a casino is BetMGM, as they have over 2000 casino games available. That includes a fantastic mixture of slots, table games, and even live games.

Slots

If you were coming to FanDuel just to play some slots, how good is the service? Although you may find a better selection at other online sportsbooks, the library at FanDuel is brilliant. That’s because of the variety of slots you can enjoy at FanDuel. They have iconic games, like 88 Fortunes, Bonanza, and Cleopatra, plus they have Megaways versions as well. FanDuel has a brilliant variety of slots, including three reels, five reels, and even avalanche systems. If you were looking for something different, they have Slingo games, jackpot slots, and a brilliant collection of slots with plenty of bonus features.

NetEnt Slots

  • StarBurst
  • Gonzo's Quest
  • Blood Suckers 2
  • Jimi Hendrix
  • Divine Fortune

Jackpot Slots

  • 88 Fortunes
  • Mercy of the Gods
  • Irish Pot Luck
  • Wild Fury
  • Wheel of Fortune Ruby Riches

When we first joined FanDuel, it was easy for us to say it was a casino worth avoiding. It did not have the variety and excitement the other online casinos had. However, judging it now with its improved library, there are a lot of positives to consider. They have bolstered the collection, without focusing just on one area. They have incorporated a mixture of slot icons and new games, plus plenty of jackpot slots. Whether you are here to play the classics or try something new, the FanDuel casino is an up-and-comer already competing with the best.

Table Games

A big part of any online casino is table games. For those of you who are not a regular at the casino, a table game can include blackjack, roulette, poker, baccarat, and any other game that takes place typically on a felt table. Games like craps also count as table games, even though they don’t use a deck of cards like poker or blackjack.

The selection at FanDuel has certainly improved as we have been members, but it still falls short of the competition. Casinos like Caesars or BetMGM have a superb selection of table games, including a variety of poker games. At FanDuel they have recently added poker games such as I LUV Suits, Let It Ride, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. If they continue adding exciting new table games, the FanDuel casino will keep getting better and better.

Most Popular Table Games

  • Casino Hold’em Poker
  • I LUV Suits
  • Mississippi Stud
  • Casino War
  • Let It Ride
  • American Roulette
  • Baccarat
  • French Roulette
  • Classic Blackjack
  • Multi-Hand Blackjack Surrender

They do have some alternatives, including a healthy roulette and blackjack selection. However, other online casinos with sportsbooks will have a better collection. If you are a big poker player, then the FanDuel casino is not equipped for you. If you are happy with roulette, blackjack, and baccarat, then FanDuel is certainly one to consider.

Live Casino Games

Once again, we have to give credit to where it’s due. FanDuel has taken massive steps recently to improve the casino, and live casino games have been one benefactor. There is a greater choice of live games at FanDuel now than ever before, and in some places, it covers the competition.

They have a variety of blackjack and roulette tables, plus some live poker tables to enjoy. Perhaps the most exciting addition to the library is the live casino game shows. Live game shows are exactly what they sound like. It’s a combination of a TV game show with traditional casino games. One of the most exciting games is Lightning Roulette, a recent addition to FanDuel. The game randomly assigns various numbers a multiplier every round, and if they appear, you could win up to 500x your stake instead of the traditional roulette payouts.

Best Live Games

  • Live Baccarat
  • Lightning Roulette
  • Three Card Poker
  • Ultimate Texas Hold’em
  • Auto Roulette
  • First Person Roulette
  • Craps
  • Dragon Tiger
  • Top Card
  • Dream Catcher

If FanDuel keeps adding exciting games like lightning roulette, then there is no doubt it will be a fabulous online casino. At the moment, there are better-equipped online casinos with a greater catalog of live games to choose from. For anyone looking to try out live games for the first time, FanDuel is a great place to start. Anyone with considerable live gaming experience will enjoy sportsbooks like BetMGM more.

FanDuel Fantasy Sports

FanDuel is famous for its fantasy sports selection. It and DraftKings are two of the biggest names in the USA for fantasy sports. Both services are quite similar, but they have differences regarding how they award points. If you don’t know what fantasy sports are, think of it as a competition where each player creates their own team, and the team earns points based on real-life performances. The competitions can last a week or several months, depending on the league you join.

FanDuel offers a variety of different sports in its fantasy collection. They include the fan favorites like the NFL and NBA, plus some interesting choices like golf and NASCAR. Where FanDuel falls short compared to DraftKings is in the number of sports offered. DraftKings offers players 24 fantasy sports, depending on your location. FanDuel is close with around 19, but they also have restrictions. Players from certain states are not eligible to make Esports fantasy teams. Below is a list of fantasy sports available at FanDuel.

  • Call of Duty
  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
  • English Premier League
  • League of Legends
  • Major League Baseball
  • NASCAR
  • National Basketball Association
  • NCAA Basketball
  • NCAA Football
  • National Hockey League
  • National Football League
  • Outlaw Golf
  • Partial Fixture Contests
  • Professional Golfers’ Association
  • The Basketball Tournament
  • Tennis
  • UEFA Champions League
  • Ultimate Fighting Championship
  • Women’s National Basketball Association

Leagues

FanDuel offers players a variety of contests for each sport. Popular sports like the NFL offer players the chance to enter beginner contests, where new players can take on opponents at a similar experience level. They also offer intermediate contests for players looking to make the jump out of beginner-level entries.

The excitement at FanDuel comes from the length of your contest. You can play a one-day contests or weekly events with large prize pools. Each sport will have a mixture of contests, including different lengths and different types. The beginner bracket has three options: the Beginner 50/50, the Double Ups, or a Tournament. 50/50s give half of all entries the chance to win, no matter how many players enter. The Double Ups allow you to double your money, but there are fewer winners than the 50/50s. Or the tournament is where the chance of winning is much lower, but the rewards are significantly higher.

It’s worth noting that they count your first 50 contests at a beginner level. After that, they put you up to the intermediate bracket until your 500th contest. However, if you win a certain amount from your contests, they will automatically move you up to a higher bracket. You will become an experienced player when you win $2,500 or more from six entries, or if you play over 500 contests. The same applies to highly experienced players, who earn the title after 1,000 games or $1,000 in winnings from four or more contests.

Game Types

Besides the beginner contests we outlined above, there are several types of contests you can enter for most sports. FanDuel allows you to choose whether you want to go up against droves or take on individuals. You can compete against a single random player, or challenge your friends in head to heads. Below outlines the contests you can enter at FanDuel.

  • 50/50s: As mentioned above, 50/50s are your chance to enter a competition and win a prize just for finishing in the top half of the leaderboard. There is no benefit in finishing second or tenth, all players in the top half get the same prize. The downside is there is no guaranteed prize pool, so the contest must fill.
  • 3-100 Player: Much smaller contests with a higher chance of winning. They cap the size of the contest to just 100 players.
  • Head to Heads: A contest where you only need to beat one other player. The winner of the contest will take home all the prize money, no splits or buts.
  • Multipliers: This type of contest is where you can multiply your entry fee. You could either double, triple, or quadruple whatever you staked to get into the contest.
  • Beat the Score: Another contest where your finishing position does not matter. Instead, all you have to do is beat the selected score to win a share of the prize pool. If you pick an easy score to beat, and everyone wins, then you win a tiny prize. If you choose a high score and a few players win, then they split the prize evenly amongst fewer players.
  • Tournaments: The FanDuel tournaments have guaranteed prize pools, so they can run even when they are not full of players. These are high-risk but high-reward contests only for the brave.
  • Satellites & Qualifiers: Win this contest to move on to another round with larger prize pools. Expect each round to get harder as the worst players get eliminated.
  • Best Ball: A draft that lasts the entire season. You get 30 seconds to make a pick and have to draft up to 12 players. Your nine best-scoring players count towards your score every week.
  • Daily Snake Draft: A live draft where each player picks one player at a time for the games that day. You can only have up to 12 opponents and there are no salary caps. Once somebody selects a player, they are no longer available to the other players.
  • Single Game: You get to pick five players from one game. Picking an MVP is crucial as the MVP earns 1.5x fantasy points. Each player you pick costs a certain amount, so you must stay within the salary budget to qualify.

Rewards

Here at Bet Station, we want to recommend fantasy sports betting sites that give something back to the players. FanDuel has a Players Club where you earn reward points every time you enter a paid contest. The rate at which you earn points is one dollar per five FanDuel points. Plus, there are special promotions and bonuses littered throughout the year for you to earn more rewards points at FanDuel.

The benefit of collecting these points is that you can enter contests for free. Simply use your rewards points instead of your cash to enter certain fantasy sports contests. DraftKings offers a similar reward system, both of which categorize players into levels. The higher up the levels you go, the better your rewards.

DraftKings edges out FanDuel in terms of what you can do with your points. DraftKings allows you to access the Dynasty store, where you can claim merchandise, gift cards, experiences, or even travel and accommodation. At the moment, FanDuel only allows you to use your points for free entries in specific contests. If this changes, we will update our FanDuel review. However, it looks like DraftKings offers a better system for loyal players.

FanDuel Banking Options

The best online sportsbooks have a variety of payment methods for you to choose from. This can include traditional options like your credit card or more unconventional methods, like a check via post. Some sportsbooks have retail locations where you can deposit and withdraw from your online account. FanDuel is up there with the best for banking options. They have an enormous range to choose from which should suit most players.

Deposit Methods

At FanDuel, there are several deposit methods to consider. One method which only applies to players near a retail location is to make a deposit in cash. This also applies to the PayNearMe service, which is widely available in convenience stores across the USA. Each method varies. Some will appear instantly in your account, and others may take a little time to clear. Below is a list of the payment methods available at FanDuel.

Deposit MethodTime FrameFee
Online BankingInstant$0
Debit CardInstant$0
Credit CardInstant$0
VenmoInstant$0
FanDuel Prepaid Play+Instant$0
PayPalInstant$0
Green Dot MoneyPAKUp to 1 hour$5.95
PayNearMeInstant$3.99
Gift CardsInstant$0
ChecksUp to 14 days$0
Wire Transfer3-5 business days$15

Comparing FanDuel to other popular sportsbooks, it has just as good, if not a better, selection of payment methods. Some smaller online sportsbooks or casinos have a select few payment method types. But at FanDuel, they have a vast array of options.

Withdrawal Methods

Just as you would hope, FanDuel has a brilliant range of withdrawal methods as well. When compared to its rivals, it has nearly as many methods as Caesars or DraftKings. There is no easy way for a sportsbook to excel at withdrawing your funds. Instead, we want to see lots of options with withdrawal times being as quick as possible.

Withdrawal MethodTime FrameFee
Online Banking2-48 hours$0
Debit Card2-48 hours$0
Credit Card2-48 hours$0
PayPal2-48 hours$0
Venmo2-48 hours$0
FanDuel Prepaid Play+2-48 hours$0
CheckUp to 14 days$0

If you wish to withdraw via debit card, PayPal, Venmo, or a prepaid card, you must have used this method to deposit your funds in the past. The more deposit methods you use, the more withdrawal methods you will have. This is an excellent anti-theft feature, as it stops someone from logging into your account and transferring all your funds to their account.

FanDuel Bonus Offers

If you check out any of the reviews here at Bet Station, you would see we like to focus on the bonuses. That’s because we think the best online sportsbooks consistently give players something to enjoy. Whether it’s boosted bets, promotions, or a rewards system, we only want to recommend the best.

Comparing FanDuel to its biggest rival, DraftKings, you will see a lot of differences. FanDuel is far more consistent and generous with the promotions. You are more likely to see an opportunity to get a free bet at FanDuel than DraftKings. However, if you compare FanDuel to the best sportsbooks for promos, like BetMGM, you will see it fall short. That’s because FanDuel is more seasonal with its promotions. During big events like the beginning of a season or the Super Bowl, there are more promos available. When the dominant sports go into the preseason, the promotions and bonuses at FanDuel can dry up.

However, let’s say you have read our review and want to experience FanDuel for yourself; what can you expect? If you live in a state with casino support, then you will have greater access to more promotions. If you live in a state without casino games, then you will have to rely on bet boosts, risk-free bets, or refer a friend for a sportsbook bonus.

How to Claim?

FanDuel Sign Up

If you are thinking about joining FanDuel, here are a few steps to help you get started. When signing up, you only get one chance to put in a bonus or promo code, so don’t forget to do so. Once you have signed up, there is no way of going back!

Step 1: Click our FanDuel Link

This step allows you to see a complete list of all the states and provinces where you can sign up for a FanDuel account. So if you like to travel, you can see which states also have FanDuel support and whether the service is right for you.

Step 2: Select your State

Once you select the state you are currently in, they will ask you for your email and a username plus password. Some states allow you to place a promo code at this stage, and others will automatically apply a code if you click our link. Or, if you are signing up from your friend’s referral code, make sure you put it in here or it will not activate.

Step 3: Enter your Personal Information

Before you can make any sports bets, you need to confirm your identity. That means entering your name and address, including the zip code. You will then have to enter your birthdate, your phone number, and the last four digits of your social security number. Without providing all of this information, you cannot create a valid account.

Once you have completed all the steps mentioned above, you are ready to make your first deposit and play. Each sports betting site will have a limit on the minimum and maximum you can deposit. At FanDuel, the minimum you can deposit is $10 according to the support page. There is a maximum for how much you can withdraw, but that won’t be an issue for most of us.

FanDuel User Interface

If you are looking for an easy-to-use sportsbook, FanDuel is up there with the best of them. It is incredibly straightforward to browse across multiple sports and find the wagers you want. Whichever sport you want to bet on, FanDuel has a vast range of bets to consider. They have dedicated sections to create a same game parlay. They also break up each sport into different bets. If you were betting on a baseball game, you can bet on players to record a hit, home run, the result of the first pitch, the first innings correct score, and so on.

The sportsbook is presented in such a way that no matter where you are on the page, you can easily jump to exactly what you want. They have a list of sports and promos at the top, plus a list of all the sports at FanDuel. Before you make your bet, you can visit the promo page to see if anything coincides with the wagers you are going to make.

There are many sportsbooks with a similar design ethos to FanDuel, but that takes nothing away from FanDuel. Whether you are sports betting for the very first time or have a few years of experience, you will have no trouble using this service.

Navigation

We touched on the navigation above, but there really is a lot to celebrate at FanDuel. When you are on the main page, you can use the tabs at the top to jump to dedicated sports. Or, if you scroll down the main page, you can jump to the sporting events starting today. The reason that is such a useful feature is that it allows you to make multi-sport parlays. You can add baseball, NFL, and soccer games to your bet slip without having to jump between different pages and categories.

It is equally easy to jump from sport to sport if you are just browsing for sports to bet on. The main page allows you to create a parlay just on sporting events that are happening in the next 24 hours. If you are betting ahead of time, you can browse for specific tournaments, next week’s fixtures, or place futures for results at the end of the season. No matter what device we used, whether it was a PC, mobile, or tablet, navigation was never an issue. It was always easy and never let us down, even at peak times.

Technology

If we are talking about peak times, we might as well look at the page load times. As with any sports betting site, loading hundreds of odds in real time can cause some loading issues. Certain pages may take longer to load as the odds update. However, we never had to wait longer than a second or two to jump from the most popular sports.

It may get frustrating when you are rushing to place a bet before the game starts, but the delay is often beneficial. Many sportsbooks allow you to put bets on the bet slip without updating the odds. Meaning when you go to place the bet, the odds have changed and you must accept these changes. FanDuel gives you the opportunity to turn this on or off, meaning you can accept odds changes as they happen with no delays.

No service is going to be faultless all the time, but FanDuel was certainly one of the most reliable we have ever seen. Throughout the months we were a member, the downtime was considerably less than DraftKings.

Mobile Usability

As with most sportsbooks, the bigger your screen, the easier the service is to use. At FanDuel, this certainly was the case, but most of our time on FanDuel was spent with the mobile app. It loaded quickly, it was the easiest to use on the go and was our most convenient method of placing a bet during a sporting event.

Looking at the FanDuel fantasy sports app, we felt it worked better on our mobile device than on our PC. The clarity and design of the app made playing daily fantasy sports quick and easy. Entering contests like the daily snake draft were incredibly fun and very time efficient. With notifications enabled, we could enter a draft, do something else, and come back in time for the first pick.

Looking at the mobile casino, we have to say FanDuel has almost completely nailed it. Whenever we browse a mobile casino, we find the layout is often troublesome on a mobile device. With hundreds of similar-looking games on a page, it’s always difficult to find the ones we want. However, at FanDuel, they prioritize large and recognizable game logos and icons. Plus, in the corner of each game, they have a text version of each game's name. Meaning you do not need to decipher what a game is, you can just use the logo or the text.

FanDuel Mobile App

The fairest way to evaluate the FanDuel mobile app is to compare it to its biggest rival, DraftKings. Off the bat, DraftKings has a kinder color scheme on the eye. Not that we recommend any late-night betting, but the bright white and blue FanDuel colors are a little harsher than the black and green at DraftKings.

Besides the colors, the font size and accessibility of FanDuel are way better than DraftKings. Navigation is also much easier, as there are fewer menus to get lost in. They both have your bet slip pinned to the bottom, so you can easily customize or review any of your selections. They both have promos at the top of the page, but FanDuel is easier to navigate. It has the sticky tab at the homepage which follows you down as you browse, allowing you to swap sports without scrolling back up.

FanDuel Availability

FanDuel is one of the most widely available sports betting sites in America. Currently, FanDuel has a license to operate mobile sports betting in 18 states, five of which also offer casino games. They are constantly expanding in the United States with more states expected later this year. We will update our FanDuel review to contain the latest information. Make sure you check back here at a later date.

FanDuel Customer Services

As with anything in life, something is bound to go wrong. This is why every major sports betting site has a contact section waiting if you ever need it. At Bet Station, we like to test out these support systems to see how effective they are should a problem arise. We reached out via live chat to FanDuel and had to wait under 30 minutes to speak to a real person. The person was friendly and knowledgeable and answered our queries in around ten minutes.

FanDuel Comparison

Throughout our FanDuel review, we have compared it to various rival online sportsbooks to see how it fares. It has an excellent range of sports to bet on, plus a comprehensive collection of wagers to consider. It is an easy-to-use service, and it works wonderfully on mobile and tablet devices. In some areas, it falls marginally short of the competition. DraftKings has a better mix of fantasy sports and BetMGM is more consistent with its promos. However, FanDuel is a fantastic online sportsbook, casino, and fantasy sports service and we think it suits players of all experience levels.

FanDuel Verdict

FanDuel is one of those services you see advertised all the time, but how is it to actually join? We here at Bet Station have joined every major online sportsbook widely available across America. FanDuel is advertised so much because it is a complete service. Even the areas that were lacking, say the number of casino games, they addressed during our membership. They are constantly improving and adding to all their services and would be an excellent starting point for any sports bettor.

FanDuel Frequently Asked Questions

Can FanDuel be trusted?

Yes. FanDuel is a verified and licensed service with a dedication to responsible gambling. It has a variety of payment methods and is widely available across the United States. If you signup for the fantasy sports service, they have a dedicated section for new players to help you get to grips with the format. They have contests and tournaments reserved just for new players.

Which is better, DraftKings or FanDuel?

Both services offer excellent fantasy sports contests for all players to enjoy. DraftKings has a better selection of fantasy sports to choose from, including a larger selection of Esports.
